Works
Ra!ph’s works are divided into gategories from photography to sculpture and the two combined in his concept of association.
liberty
The liberty series is a work with individuals concentrating on forms of hand expression, mainly the closed fist gesture that in each person symbolises their own personal combat. The very first of the series was created in 1999 for french national magazine ‘nouvel observateur’ to symbolise the topic of International Women’s Day.
photography
Photography of people and objects. Ra!ph has been a professional photographer for over 30 years in many fields of activity. His photographic works mainly reflect his activity in the world of fashion.
association
Having worked together with several artists of the infamous School of Nice mouvement, Ra!ph is a hereditory member of the movement. His long friendship and work with the sculptor and painter Sacha Sosno led him to return to sculpture. The main artists of the School of Nice movement had each a personal art principal and for him in turn to take an art principle to express his work. Ra!ph chose the principle of 'association' half image, half objects. The objects in question come from the environment of each person that is the subject of the work, or has a hidden meaning behind the person portayed.
man one
Multiple graphic expressions around the same symbol, the man one represents the male sexual organ. Either cut out of metal sheets or sculpted in different materials in volume, Ra!ph experiments with a multitude of graphics, colours and materials. The use of this contravercial symbol is obviously a provocation, but can be as positive as it can be negative. It can be a symbol of homosexual life, a symbol of men's virility, a symbol of men's incapacity to think without here sex, their opression on women or just a hymn or celebration of the 'giver of life' or more even the 'giver of pleasure'.
geometric landscapes
This series is a product of Ra!ph's original profession as a graphic artist and his lifetime addiction to and profession in architecture. Graphic forms fill the lanscape of the canvas which in this case is sheets of metal. In a graphic world, we have a clean sheet to fill. Fill with words, images or shapes. When they are placed, we need to reach a state of equilibrium. My work in architecture is the same. The placement of a wall, a window, a door, everything must reach a state of harmony. It is an obsession for me to create an equilibrium in a space with just a few lines.

food of the stars
A series of works produced with stars and personalities all over the world for "in the kichen with stars". An iniative produced by Ra!ph and the Baroness Angela Van Wright by order of SAS Prince Albert II of Monaco for his charity "Mission Enfance". new works are produced evey year for new editions of the book. The principle of the books is to take the favourite meal of each personnality. The principle of the works is to work around one of the elements of the favourite dish of each star. To apply an esthetic using macro photography combined with a graphic treatment. But the work becomes more complex... Each work beholds numbers. The numbers tell something about each personnality, Its an inigma, a game... it is for the public to search on the web to find the reason for these numbers and discover their hidden meaning.
